Tamryn Lombard

Hi, I’m Tamryn. I grew up in Blouberg and have lived close to UCT where I studied Marine Biology, and in Muizenberg where I worked as a surf instructor. I work in the tourism industry as a lifeguard and swim guide, I’m based in the UK/EU over winter and then I return back home in summer.

In summer I work as a swim guide providing boat support for open-water and long-distance swims in Cape Town and surrounds. Due to my work, I don’t work ordinary hours. I might start early and be home by the afternoon, or work weekends, or I might not work some days during the week. I know this isn’t ideal for people who like a regular routine, but it has its benefits like having the place to yourself some weekends. Also if I am home during the day I will be mindful that people need their structure and personal space.

I have a few close friends in Cape Town and I love to be out when the weather is nice. I enjoy swimming, surfing, hiking, cycling and being outdoors. I also love being social and going for coffee, drinks, dinner, theatre, cinema, karaoke etc. I get on well with people who are down to earth, who enjoy being outdoors or being sociable, and who are generally just good people.
