James Mc Phail

Hi, I’m James McPhail, a freelance performer and actor. I’ve recently finished a season of Pretty Woman: The Musical and will be starting rehearsals for Mamma Mia! in July. My work takes me all over the country (and sometimes beyond), so I’m often away on contracts and looking for a place that can be a secure, comfortable home base while I’m travelling.

I’ve been living in Cape Town for the past year and have really come to appreciate the lifestyle, people, and sense of community here. I’m easy-going, friendly, and approachable, with a good sense of humour and a positive outlook on life. I genuinely enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and building meaningful connections, but I’m also very respectful of personal boundaries and understand the importance of having your own space.

As someone who works in the performing arts, I’m adaptable, professional, and considerate. I have strong social awareness, can read a room well, and pride myself on being the kind of person who contributes positively to a household dynamic. Whether it’s sharing a meal and a chat after a long day or simply coexisting respectfully, I’m happy to find the balance that works best for everyone.

I’m extremely clean, organised, and hygienic, and I take pride in looking after both my own space and shared living areas. Reliability, communication, and mutual respect are important values to me, and I always aim to be a thoughtful and considerate housemate.

When I’m not working, I enjoy staying active, exploring new places, spending time with friends, and recharging in a calm, peaceful environment. I’m looking for a home where people are respectful, friendly, and value a relaxed, drama-free atmosphere.
