The property is in a very safe area of Mowbray, and has the added safety of electric fencing, an alarm system, regular security patrols in the area, and a secure gate. The house is within walking distance of UCT med campus, the Jammie shuttle, the train station, CPUT campus, and many other shops & institutions. There are 5 rooms, 4 of which are taken currently. The available room is generously sized, and one of the ‘medium’ rooms in the house. There are 2 full bathrooms with showers, and 1 extra toilet. The kitchen is equipped with a full sized fridge, 4-plate electric stove, plenty of counter space, and a dishwasher. Outside in a large shed, there is a washing machine and dryer. The lounge has 2 comfy couches, a TV, a dining table and chairs. Each bedroom comes with a bed, built-in-cupboards, and a desk. The property is very large for the price, and there is a huge enclosed yard outside with beautiful plants around the edges - which are maintained by a gardener who comes about once a month, included in the rent. A cleaner also comes once a week, also included in the rent. There is plenty of parking space in front of the house, including a single-car garage. High-speed WiFi is also included in the rent. Water and electricity are prepaid and not included in the rent. We’d prefer a roommate who isn’t a regular tobacco smoker, but at the very least if you are, you’d need to strictly smoke outside.

All four of us are either 1st or 2nd year students at UCT, studying in various fields. We like to have a good time, but we’re definitely not super heavy partiers - one of us is a med student after all! We’re friendly and welcoming, and would love the opportunity to make a new friend. We all like our private space & respect one another, and we’ve got well-discussed rules around keeping the shared spaces tidy and clean. We like to share the load when it comes to chores and maintaining the space. We’re not very noisy, and we keep regular communication going to make sure we’re accommodating each other’s needs as best we can. We enjoy spending time together watching movies, playing games/music, or studying. We’ve got quite a few fun hobbies between us, including outdoor activities (hiking, climbing, etc.), gaming, crafting (sewing, knitting, art, etc.), playing instruments, etc. We’d love it if you introduced us to your hobbies! If you’ve got a pet, we’ll probably all be fine with that (we all love animals) - but you’d have to get approval from our landlord. We’d like a roommate who is LGBT+ friendly - you don’t have to be LGBT+ yourself, but as long as you respect us as fellow humans, we’re all good! We are primarily looking for a roommate around our age (18-25), but if you’re older you’re still welcome to send a message and we can chat.
