Merel & Saskia's room

The room is one of three in an apartment complex in Vredehoek. Vredehoek is safe and the hub of the area is a short walk away, there is a Spar, some restaurants/ coffee shops and a laundromat amongst others. There is a communal bathroom, kitchen, living room and an outside courtyard with a Webber barbecue. The room has a bed frame and is currently unfurnished, but can be come furnished if preferred. The living room has a record player/ stereo system, chairs, a collapsible dining table, a day bed that can be used for guest and a coffee table. The bathroom has shower space and a shelf to put away toiletries for each roommate. The kitchen has a fridge which will be divided between the roommates and comes with a microwave, stove top, oven, kettle and toaster. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and pans/ pots. The apartment also has a washing machine, portable dryer, cleaning equipment such as a broom, cleaning supplies, a vacuum and a mop. Parking would be on the street outside. Wifi costs are split between the roommates, as well as electricity, this comes to about R 500 per month per person. Water is included in the rent. We have a cute cat called Linga, who mostly chills on her owners bed the whole day. She is very friendly and keeps to herself.

We are both females (19 & 20) who are studying Musical Theatre. We have a deep passion for all things music, drama and theatre. We are looking for a clean, friendly, cat loving roommate to fill the room as our previous roommate relocated back to Joburg. We have busy, unreliable schedules so aren’t always home but always prioritise keeping the space clean and liveable for the others in the flat. We are social so will occasionally have little get togethers, but we also appreciate our quiet/ alone time. Every few weeks we have a ‘flatmate meeting’ to ensure everyone is safe and happy in the space :)
