Hi there! I’m looking to rent out a furnished room in my lovely 2-bedroom flat, right on the edge of Rondebosch and Newlands. It’s a safe, central area with loads of charm and great access to everything. Shops, pharmacies, a gym and more are all within walking distance. Sadly, no pets allowed.

Available from January 2027.

The room is R9,500/month, all-inclusive: Wi-Fi, electricity and a cleaner once a week. The room itself is on the smaller side, but it has a beautiful view over the trees in the complex grounds. It’s incredibly peaceful, and you mostly just hear the occasional birdsong from the garden below (nice birdsong, not hadedas, don’t worry). The garden is huge and communal, perfect for reading, relaxing, tanning in the summer or a picnic. You’re also more than welcome to use the flat’s study (I’ve included 2 photos of it).

The flat is spacious, with a large lounge and dining area, and I’ve furnished it beautifully. I’d really appreciate someone who respects the space and the contents of the flat and shares a love for keeping it homely. I’m an art and plant lover, so there’s always a new picture going up or a new plant joining the family.

The block: It’s very safe and friendly, with a real sense of community among the residents. There are 24/7 security cameras watching over the outside parking area as well as the block, and a complex manager who lives in the block and deals with any concerns. Parking: There isn’t a bay currently available, but there’s the potential to rent one. Many residents of the block park outside the building without any issues (I.e 24/7 cameras etc).

Who I’m looking for: Ideally a fellow working professional, though I’m also open to postgrads or mature students. The main things we’re after in a flatmate is someone respectful, tidy and accountable, open-minded and easygoing, with a good sense of humour and sober habits. Non-smoker (there’s no balcony, so vaping is fine, but no cigarettes). A one-month deposit is required. Message me if you’re interested!

Who you’d be living with: You’d be sharing the flat with myself and my boyfriend. I’m 25 and work as a digital strategist. I’m in the office three days a week and work from home the other two. My boyfriend is 26 and works as a race car technician and is in the office Monday to Friday. We’re easygoing and really value keeping the flat calm, clean and comfortable. We enjoy socialising but see the flat as a bit of a sanctuary, so no flat parties, but the occasional dinner or hangout is welcome.
