The area:

The property is right by Bulwer Park, with a Spaar in 10 min walking distance, the big Muscrave Shopping-Center in 20 min walking distance. Furthermore there is a nice Gym, a Sports Club and the KwaZulu-Natal Society of the Arts Gallery+ Coffee in the park and Devonport, one Durbans best areas to go out (Bars, restaurants, Coffees etc.) is also within a walking distance.

The building: The building is clean and has several apartments connected by a inner courtyard. The Neighbors are extremely nice and you can definitely feel safe on the property.

The apartment:

The apartment is pretty big with two bedrooms, a fully functional kitchen, a living room with a big row of windows with a beautiful view over Bulwer Park and even the harbor and the ocean in the distance. There are curtains that can devide the living room so that the window part where the sofa-bed is can function as a guest room. The bathroom and the toilet is separated and there is a washing machine.

The room:

the room is very big and has a high ceiling and a big row of windows with the same beautiful view as from the living room. There is a big wallunit with plenty of storage space and a full body mirror on one of the doors. The mattress was bought new two months ago ( but it is a single mattress )

The Formal Stuff:

my name is Filiz Geiger and I moved from Germany to Durban this August at 20 years old. I am doing a social voluntary year here thanks to an organisation called Fif( Frachstelle für internationale Freiwilligendienste Freiburg), a government and church ( but no, I am not religious 😅) supported NGO that gives young people the opportunity to work with one of their lokal partner organizations around the world in exchange for living in that country for a year. So now I work at a child and youth care center here in Durban.

The not so formal stuff:

I love being creative and everything that has to do with arts: dancing, drawing, painting, writing, movies, books, shows… you name it. I also go to the gym and love swimming.

I can‘t say if I am an introvert or extrovert… I need my safe space and sometimes really enjoy spending time on my own and really value my sleep… at the same time I love being social and around people and on board with (almost) every sidequest.
