Furnished queen sized bedroom available in a lovely two bedroom, two-bathroom home in the heart of Parkhurst.

The room has a comfortable queen-sized bed and built-in cupboards. The bathroom is shared and has both a bath and shower. The house has two beautiful gardens and plenty of space to relax, including a hammock.

The location is excellent - walking distance to the restaurants and cafés on 4th Avenue, close to Rosebank, and an easy commute to Sandton, the CBD and surrounding areas. Close enough to UJ and Wits. Parkhurst is a lovely, established and very walkable neighbourhood.

The property also has a separate cottage at the back of the garden which is occasionally used for short-term rentals. It is completely separate from the main house.

Parking is available.

This is my home, and I’m looking for a housemate for approximately six months.

I’m a professional who works from home and value having a home that feels calm, comfortable and welcoming. I’m easy going, sociable and respectful of personal space, and I’d like to share the home with someone who feels the same.

I’m looking for someone who is independent and has their own life, but who also enjoys having a friendly home - chatting in the kitchen, occasionally sharing a meal or glass of wine, watching something together or simply having someone around.

Ideally, we get along well and a genuine friendship develops naturally. There’s no expectation that we need to be joined at the hip!

This is not a conventional commune or highly structured house share. There are no formal cleaning rotas or complicated household rules. It’s simply about the normal consideration that comes with sharing a home - keeping shared spaces reasonably clean and tidy, respecting each other’s privacy, being mindful of noise and guests, and communicating openly if something comes up.

The six-month arrangement is the starting point. If we get along well and both enjoy living together, I’m open to discussing an extension.

Because I work from home, someone who works outside the home, has a hybrid schedule or is a full-time student would probably be a good fit.

The home is shared with one very loved, friendly dog who is both an indoor and outdoor dog, so being genuinely comfortable around dogs is important.
